PLYWOOD – Plywood comes with many different types of veneer and thicknesses. Finish grade of plywood is available in many wood species such as birch, maple, oak, cherry, walnut, pine and fir to name a few. Finish grade plywood is good for cabinet and furniture building.
There is plywood for structure building that is used for sub-flooring, walls, and roofing. They too come in different thicknesses to accommodate different applications. OSB (oriented strand board) is a multi-purpose plywood. Large wood chips compressed together with exterior glue usually offers a cost savings compared to plywood.
